Uromi JDPCI was established by the Catholic Diocese of Uromi on the 13th April 2006 and was registered as an incorporated trustee on the 1st of February 2012.

The mission of Uromi JDPCI is to foster social justice and holistic human development, empowering individuals to lead meaningful lives.

Uromi JDPCI’s organisational ideology is premised on the mandate of God to humankind which is to take care of His creation, to be on the side of the poor, to live in peace with all people, and to preserve human dignity and the common good of all.

Uromi JDPCI work in the various thematic areas: Good governance, Human Right, Sexual and gender-based violence, and child early and forced marriage (SGBV/CEFM), Migration and countering Trafficking in persons, Legal and correctional services apostolate, Micro credit services, Health and OVC (Orphans and Vulnerable Children), Livelihood support, Environment and Climate.
